Week Notes #2

one

Spent about 5 days back at home and came back to London. Time has mostly lost all meaning at this point. But it’s a Monday.

I go back to work on the 13th of January, but still haven’t planned anything for the extended break. My latest thinking is trains around Central Europe for a few days – Budapest, Vienna, Bratislava, but i’m feeling too lazy to plan it.

two

I recently bought a secondhand projector on eBay, the same kind I had in Vancouver, I had missed it. In the last few nights i’ve watched The Irishman, and The Shining – which has become a Christmas tradition of mine.

three

I didn’t complete the Festive 500 but took a 40 mile ride into Essex yesterday, and 80 miles around Surrey today. The latter killed me. But it was a beautiful day, for the first time in a while. The bacon sandwich halfway at The Dabbling Duck in Shere was excellent. Essex wasn’t so great, people drive too fast and I saw five dead foxes.

four

Happy I discovered organiclab.zip on Instagram and happy i’ve finally giving Norman Fucking Rockwell a chance. Pretty sure I want to live in LA now and hike everywhere in these shorts.

five

It rained on boxing day so we went and saw Little Women. It was a slow burn but the last quarter was great, and, like others, I would compare it to a warm hug. It is soup.

six

I’ve spent a bunch of time tinkering on this blog. There is now an archive page.

seven

I’ve thought multiple times about trying to a personal best of the the 2010’s list. But 2020 is less than 48 hours away and it’s probably time to move on. Here’s to a new decade and less unnecessary reflection!
